I wanted to become a Forrest Yoga teacher to share the incredible benefits as this style of yoga has been such a big part of my healing journey, along with Shamanism. I use it as a way to check in with myself daily, which helps to keep me balanced in mind, body and spirit. The benefits are huge and have many layers. Yoga moves the body to lubricate, nourish and protect the joints with synovial fluid, stretches the fascia and strengthens the postural muscles- all helping to prevent common issues caused by aging and modern living. It also helps to bring the mind into union with the body and spirit; creating greater awareness of where physical and emotional freedom as well as tension exist, helping to gently relax into acceptance of what is there, allowing for release and the creation of more physical and mental space with each breath. These are just some of the benefits to enjoy! I have tried many styles of Yoga over the past 15 years and fell in love with Forrest Yoga. If you feel the call, check out the booking links above for upcoming classes.
Forrest Yoga was created by Ana T. Forrest in 1982. It is known for its long holding of positions, emphasis on breath, abdominal core work, and strong standing pose series. This style emphasises connecting to one's feelings in order to work through physical and emotional trauma. Forrest Yoga incorporates the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of humanity, and links them through its 4 core pillars for a more profound and holistic evolution: Breath, Integrity, Strength & Spirit.
Collaborations and Teaching
I love to collaborate with Yoga Teachers by playing Sound Healing music during Savasana. If you are a teacher or event creator and would like me to share sound healing in person or online, I would love to hear from you!
