A Grounding, Beginner-Friendly Yoga & Sound Healing Class

Join Emma for a supportive, slow-paced practice designed to release tension, improve posture, and reconnect you with your body and breath. Through mindful, functional movement, longer-held postures, and conscious breathing, you’ll build strength, steadiness, and resilience in a way that feels nourishing and sustainable.

This breath-led style of movement helps soothe the nervous system and improve oxygen efficiency in the body. When breath and movement are synchronised, muscles work more effectively, circulation improves, and stored tension begins to release. Rather than draining your energy, this practice restores it - creating a grounded, steady vitality instead of spikes and crashes.

Balanced energy is essential for thriving. When your nervous system feels safe and regulated, you can think more clearly, recover more easily, move with less pain, and show up more fully in your life. Cultivating energy through conscious movement allows you not just to cope, but to feel resilient, present, and truly alive.

By improving functional movement patterns - how you sit, stand, walk, and move in daily life - a regular Forrest Yoga practice can reduce common aches and pains, especially in the back, neck, shoulders, and hips, while building long-term strength and stability.

What Makes This Different

Think of it as the physical benefits of Pilates, with the added awareness that creates real, lasting change.

Forrest Yoga offers many of the same physical benefits as Pilates. Both focus on functional movement, core strength, posture, and helping to undo the effects of modern lifestyles, like prolonged sitting, poor alignment, and repetitive movement patterns.

Where Forrest Yoga goes further is in its emphasis on internal awareness.
Rather than simply following shapes or instructions, you’ll learn how to feel into your body and move in a way that truly supports what you need. This means you’re not just strengthening muscles, you’re understanding how your body holds tension and learning how to release it.

This awareness is what creates lasting change. It allows you to recognise and shift the physical, emotional, and habitual patterns that contribute to tension, both during class and in your everyday life.

This is not about pushing through or adopting a “no pain, no gain” mentality, which often leaves us feeling depleted or disconnected. Instead, the practice is rooted in compassionate enquiry, helping you build a healthier, more supportive relationship with your body.

Over time, this can show up in simple but powerful ways: moving with more ease, improving posture naturally, breathing more fully, responding calmly instead of reacting under stress, and feeling more confident in the choices you make for your wellbeing.

What Is Forrest Yoga?

Forrest Yoga is a modern, therapeutic style of Hatha yoga created by Ana Forrest to meet the physical and emotional demands of contemporary life. It combines breath-led movement, mindful sequencing, and a strong focus on core awareness to support posture, release tension, and cultivate a deep mind–body connection.
Poses are adaptable and accessible, making this practice suitable for all levels, including complete beginners and during pregnancy - no flexibility nor prior experience required.

What You’ll Experience

Each class includes:

-
Foundational Forrest Yoga postures to unwind tension and support healthy posture
-
Conscious breathwork to steady the mind and support balance
-
Gradual development of strength, flexibility, and embodied awareness
-
A deeply restful Sound Journey using singing bowls, flutes, chimes, voice, and more

The sound healing element helps guide your body into a deeply relaxed, parasympathetic state - where true rest and repair can happen. The sound vibrations support the release of stored tension, calm the mind, and allow the effects of the practice to fully integrate.

Many people leave feeling lighter, clearer, deeply grounded, and more connected to themselves.
