A Grounding, Beginner-Friendly Yoga Class

Join Emma for a supportive practice designed to calm your nervous system, ease tension, improve posture, and help you reconnect with your body and breath. Through steady pacing, mindful movement, and longer-held postures, you’ll build strength, emotional steadiness, and resilience in a way that feels sustainable and deeply nourishing. Whether you’re stressed, fatigued, overwhelmed, or simply craving a slower pace, this class offers a welcoming space to unwind and return to yourself.

What Is Yoga?

Yoga is an ancient practice rooted in the Sanskrit word yuj, meaning union of body, mind, and soul. Beyond stretching, yoga is a practice of presence, learning to listen inwardly, attune to the body, and meet yourself exactly as you are. When we move and breathe with awareness, we reconnect with the body’s natural intelligence and cultivate compassion, one breath at a time.

What is Forrest Yoga?

Forrest Yoga, created by Ana Forrest, is a modern evolution of Hatha yoga tailored to western society's bodies and minds. It blends breath-led movement, core connection, and mindful sequencing to release tension, build awareness, support physical stability and emotional balance.

No flexibility or experience is required. Forrest Yoga welcomes those with an open mind, an open heart, a willingness to learn something new in service of your own wellbeing, and a commitment to breathing deeply.

What You’ll Experience

Each class includes:

  • Foundational Forrest Yoga postures to unwind tension and support healthy posture

  • Ways to identify your own physical imbalances and how to support your needs

  • Conscious breathwork to calm your nervous system and focus the mind

  • Gradual development of core strength, balance, and flexibility

  • Tools to deepen embodied awareness and stay present with what’s arising

  • A soothing Sound Journey with singing bowls, flutes, chimes, and voice for deep rest

The breathing practice you will learn is proven to calm the mind, steady attention, and support physical and emotional balance.

Who This Class Supports

Especially helpful for:

  • Highly sensitive people (HSPs)

  • Those navigating fatigue, burnout, or chronic stress

  • Anyone healing physical or emotional injuries

  • People feeling depleted, disconnected, or stuck in fight/flight/freeze

  • Yogis seeking less performance and more presence

  • Anyone simply wanting to feel better in body and mind

What “Advanced” Means Here

In yoga, what’s truly advanced is the ability to remain present with what is arising - sensations, breath, and inner experience. Challenging postures can support this capacity by inviting us to meet intensity with awareness, but they are not the goal. Without samatā - a quality of balance, steadiness, and equanimity -along with a clear breath connection and a stable mind, I won’t guide a student into so called “advanced” shapes. This approach prioritises felt experience, safety, and long-term resilience over external form.

The Sound Journey

We will incorporate Sound Healing into each class, and also close with a soothing Sound Journey, using carefully selected instruments to guide you into deep relaxation. This final integration phase helps your whole system absorb the benefits of your practice and invites a profound sense of peace; often leading to improved sleep, emotional clarity, and a reset of the entire nervous system.

The Space

Emma offers a warm, inclusive, non-judgemental environment where all genders and all levels of experience  are welcome. You’re encouraged to move at your own pace, modify as needed, and honour your body’s wisdom. This is not a practice of pushing, it’s a practice of meeting yourself with breath, presence, and compassion.
