Beginner-Friendly Yoga & Sound Healing Classes

Join Emma for a supportive, slow-paced practice designed to release tension, improve posture, and reconnect you with your body and breath. Through mindful movement, conscious breathing, and longer-held postures, you’ll build strength, stability, and resilience in a way that feels nourishing and sustainable.

This breath led practice helps calm and soothe the nervous system, improve mobility, and restore balanced energy so you can move, recover, and feel better in everyday life.

By improving functional movement patterns — how you sit, stand, walk, and carry tension — Forrest Yoga can help reduce common aches and pains in the back, neck, shoulders, and hips whilst building long term strength and stability.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What Makes This Different

Think of it as the physical benefits of Pilates combined with deeper body awareness and mindful movement for real, lasting change.

Like Pilates, Forrest Yoga supports core strength, posture, flexibility, and functional movement, helping to undo the effects of stress, poor posture, prolonged sitting, and modern lifestyles. What makes it different is the strong focus on breath, internal awareness, and learning how to truly listen to your body rather than pushing through discomfort.

Rather than simply moving through shapes, you’ll learn how your body holds tension and how conscious movement and breath can help release it. This creates not only physical strength and stability, but also a greater sense of grounding, presence, and connection to yourself.

The practice encourages a more compassionate and sustainable approach to movement, helping you feel stronger, calmer, more energised, and more supported both on and off the mat.

 

 

What Is Forrest Yoga?

Forrest Yoga is a modern, therapeutic style of Hatha yoga created by Ana Forrest to meet the physical and emotional demands of contemporary life. It combines breath led movement, mindful sequencing, and a strong focus on core awareness to support posture, release tension, and cultivate a deep mind–body connection.

 

Poses are adaptable and accessible, making this practice suitable for all levels, including complete beginners and during pregnancy - no flexibility nor prior experience required.

 

What You’ll Experience

Each class includes:

  • Foundational Forrest Yoga postures to unwind tension and support healthy posture

  • Conscious breathwork to steady the mind and support balance

  • Gradual development of strength, flexibility, and embodied awareness

  • A deeply restful Sound Journey using singing bowls, flutes, chimes, voice, and more

The sound healing element helps guide your body into a deeply relaxed, parasympathetic state - where true rest and repair can happen. The sound vibrations support the release of stored tension, calm the mind, and allow the effects of the practice to fully integrate.

Many people leave feeling lighter, clearer, deeply grounded, and more connected to themselves.

The Space & Approach

Classes are held in a welcoming, inclusive, non-judgemental environment where all genders and levels are welcome. You’re encouraged to move at your own pace, modify as needed, and prioritise presence, safety, and long-term wellbeing over pushing or perfection.

  • Yoga mat

  • Rolled up blanket

  • Reusable water bottle - avoid plastic

  • Warm, layered clothing - including socks & jumper

This 4-week introductory series offers a supportive way to begin. Each class builds progressively,

allowing you to learn the foundations, deepen awareness, and settle into the practice at a steady,

sustainable pace.

Rather than a one-off session, this is a guided introduction—designed to help you experience meaningful

shifts in your body, breath, and focus over time.

 

If you miss a class
You’re welcome to attend another session within the same week, subject to availability.

 

Continuing your practice
For those ready to deepen their experience, Annual Memberships offer ongoing support and continuity.
